ক্যারিয়ার সেরা র্যাঙ্কিংয়ে মুস্তাফিজ

আগের ম্যাচে অভিষিক্ত বাঁহাতি স্পিনার সানজামুল ইসলামের জায়গায় দলে ফিরেছেন নাসির হোসেন। এই অফ স্পিনিং অলরাউন্ডার শেষ ওয়ানডে খেলেছিলেন গত অক্টোবরে, ইংল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে।

আগেরবার নিউ জিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে টস হেরে ব্যাটিং করতে হয়েছিল বাংলাদেশকে। ত্রিদেশীয় সিরিজের শেষ ম্যাচে টস জিতে ফিল্ডিং নিয়েছেন অধিনায়ক মাশরাফি বিন মুর্তজা।
অধিনায়কের সিদ্ধান্তে বিস্ময়ের কিছু নেই। শুরুতে উইকেটে থাকা সুবিধা কাজে লাগাতে চান মাশরাফি। তিনি মনে করছেন, সময় গড়ানোর সঙ্গে ব্যাটিং করা সহজ হয়ে যাবে।

নিউ জিল্যান্ডের মাটিতে বা নিরপেক্ষ ভেন্যুতে কখনও দেশটিকে ওয়ানডেতে হারাতে পারেনি বাংলাদেশ। আয়ারল্যান্ডে ত্রিদেশীয় সিরিজে নিজেদের শেষ ম্যাচে সেই জয়ের স্বাদ পেতে মরিয়া তারা।

West Indies were 14 for no wicket at stumps in reply after Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell negotiated 11 overs in the deciding Test of the series, which is tied at 1-1.
Azhar’s knock was hardly a highlight reel. He faced 334 balls, hitting two sixes and eight fours before being bowled by off-spinner Roston Chase.
Three other Pakistani batsmen chipped in with half centuries including captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who in his final Test made 59 before trying to reverse sweep Chase and only succeeding in getting a top edge as he fell to wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich.
Number four Younis Khan, also in his final Test, continued a disappointing series when he went lbw for 18 to pace bowler Jason Holder. Younis asked for a video review, which reaffirmed the umpire’s decision.
Batting all-rounder Chase led West Indies' attack with 4-103, while captain Holder picked up 3-71 after collecting two scalps with consecutive deliveries during a fine late spell. Leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo also chimed in with 2-61.
Pakistan scored at a rate of barely 2.5 an over and, while they made a more than respectable total it was hardly a great advertisement for the five-day format.
Bangladesh-Ireland tri-nation series opener rained out
Persistent rain has washed out the opening game of the tri-nation series between Bangladesh and Ireland, dampening the start of the Tigers’ campaign to prepare for the Champions Trophy.
Bangladesh were 157 for 4 in 31.1 overs, riding on a gritty half-century from Tamim Iqbal (64 not out) when rain swept in at Dublin’s Malahide on Friday.
Ireland made early inroads to leave Bangladesh innings in shambles on 70-4 at one stage. But Tamim anchored the innings and paired up with Mahmudullah (43 not out) to add 87 runs for the fifth wicket to take his team out of the woods.
The stylish left-handed opener’s 88-ball knock, which contained eight boundaries, shone through as he adeptly cruised to his 35th half-century while taking minimal risks.
Asked to bat first on a green top after a rain-delayed start, Bangladesh were off to shaky start.
Irish seamer Peter Chase put the top order to the sword by taking out Soumya Sarkar (5), Sabbir Rahman (0) and Shakib Al Hasan (14) while lynchpin Mushfiqur Rahim also perished for (13).
Soumya’s footwork let him down when he was caught behind in the second over before Sabbir, who scored a century in the warm-up game, swung wildly to be caught in Chase’s next over.
Mushfiqur looked in good touch when he cut Barry McCarthy for back-to-back boundaries in the last over of the Powerplay. But McCarthy got his man in his next over when another cut went wrong for the diminutive wicketkeeper-batsman, ending his 39-run partnership with Tamim.
Chase soon dismissed Shakib, the stand-in captain in place of suspended Mashrafe, with a wider delivery. Tamim and Mahmudullah then took charge.
The pair showed excellent composure under pressure but played their natural game to keep milking runs on either side of the wicket.
Mahmudullah released the pressure with a six off spinner George Dockrell as the duo gradually put Bangladesh in a good position before rain had the final say.
Bangladesh will take on New Zealand in their next match on Wednesday.
বাদ পড়াদের লড়াইয়ের গল্প শোনালেন এনামুল
গাজী গ্রুপ ক্রিকেটার্সের আট জন খেলোয়াড় কোনো না কোনো সময়ে বাংলাদেশ দলে খেলেছেন। ক্লাবের এই সতীর্থদের জাতীয় দলে হারানো জায়গা ফিরে পাওয়ার লড়াইয়ের কথা জানালেন এনামুল হক। বললেন জাতীয় দলে ফেরার নিজের লক্ষ্যের কথাও।
আয়ারল্যান্ড সফরে জাতীয় দলের সঙ্গে আছেন গাজী গ্রুপের নিয়মিত অধিনায়ক নাসির হোসেন। ত্রিদেশীয় সিরিজ শেষে ফিরে আসবেন তিনি। পেসার শফিউল ইসলাম আছেন চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স ট্রফির দলেও।
বর্তমান অধিনায়ক নাদিফ চৌধুরী, জহুরুল ইসলাম, সোহরাওয়ার্দী শুভ এক সময়ে দেশের হয়ে খেলেছেন। দুই তরুণ আবু হায়দার ও এনামুলেরও আছে জাতীয় দলের হয়ে খেলার অভিজ্ঞতা।
সীমিত ওভারের ক্রিকেটে আগেই জায়গা হারিয়েছেন মুমিনুল হক। শ্রীলঙ্কা সফরে দ্বিতীয় টেস্টে একাদশে জায়গা হয়নি বাঁহাতি এই টপ অর্ডার ব্যাটসম্যানের।
জহুরুল-মুমিনুলদের গাজী গ্রুপই এখন পর্যন্ত কোনো ম্যাচ হারেনি। ৮ ম্যাচে অষ্টম জয়ে সবার আগে সুপার লিগ নিশ্চিত করেছে তারাই। শনিবার মিরপুর শের-ই-বাংলা জাতীয় ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামে সতীর্থদের লড়াই নিয়ে বলছিলেন এনামুল।
“মজার ব্যাপার হচ্ছে, আমরা বাদ পড়া কিছু খেলোয়াড় আছি এই দলে। (মুমিনুল) সৌরভ ভাই, নাসির ভাই, (হায়দার) রনি- জাতীয় দল থেকে বাদ পড়া এমন কিছু খেলোয়ড় এক দলে খেলছি। একই বয়সের অনেকে এক সঙ্গে থাকায় অনেক মজা হয়, আড্ডা হয়।”
“জাতীয় দলে ফেরার স্বপ্ন সবার থাকে। ঢাকা প্রিমিয়ার ডিভিশন ক্রিকেট লিগ আমাদের সেরা ওয়ানডে টুর্নামেন্ট। এখানে ভালো করলে ওয়ানডে দলে ফেরার ভালো সম্ভাবনা থাকেই। সবাই এখানে নিজের সেরাটা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করে।”
কোচ মোহাম্মদ সালাউদ্দিনের অধীনে দলটি নিজেদের মেলে ধরেছে। এনামুল মনে করছেন, দলীয় ঐক্যেই আসছে সাফল্য।
“অনেক গল্প হয়।… সবাই খুব আনন্দের মধ্যে থাকি আমরা। সবাই খুব দুষ্টামি, মজা করা সব সময়ই চলতে থাকে। আমরা সবসময় ফুরফুরে মেজাজে আছি। এক দল হয়ে খেলার যে ইচ্ছা সেটা সবার মাঝেই আছে। দলকে কিছু দেওয়ার মন-মানসিকতা সবার আছে, আমার মনে হয়, এজন্যই দল ভালো ফল করছে।”
